3.) Greenberg Traurig, LLP: Court Rules That Hospitals' Fraud Claims Against MedQuist Survive Motion to Dismiss

The international law firm Greenberg Traurig announced today that Judge Simandle of the District Court for the District of New Jersey denied MedQuist's motion to dismiss the fraud claim brought by Greenberg Traurig on behalf of a putative class of hospitals. The fraud claim against MedQuist will be going forward.

The Court's ruling now enables Greenberg Traurig to take the next step to take discovery and seek class certification for the Plaintiff hospitals. The class is expected to grow as it's anticipated that as many as 3,000 hospitals nationwide are clients of MedQuist and that the losses due to MedQuist's fraud are expected to be quite significant. The class action is expected to be one of the largest ever taken by corporations against another company.

Paris, 12 October 2006 - The Board of Directors of Thomson (Euronext Paris: 18453, NYSE:TMS), chaired by Frank E. Dangeard, met on 10 October 2006 to review revenues for the quarter ending 30 September 2006.

Thomson's Core Business reported revenues for 3Q06 of EUR 1,401 million, an increase of 10% on the 3Q05 core revenues of EUR 1,274 million. Currency movements decreased Core Business revenues during the quarter by EUR 20 million. Core Business revenues at constant currency were therefore EUR 1,421 million, an increase of 11.5% year-on-year. Total reported revenues for the Group for the quarter including Non-Core revenues were EUR 1,423 million.
